Best bets for 2017

Best bets for the 2017 sporting year

1. HORSE RACING BETTING – Moon Racer - Age: 8 (Foaled March 29th, 2009) - to win the Supreme Novice Hurdle – Cheltenham Festival @ 7/1 (Skybet) – We don’t get to see him very often so might have slipped under the radar a bit.  Moon Racer has Festival winning form in the bumper previously and looks like a horse with plenty of class and real battling qualities on the evidence of his Grade 2 win at the track in November. Could easily head straight to this race without another run.

2. HORSE RACING BETTING – Un De Sceaux - Age: 9 (Foaled May 5th, 2008) - to win Ryanair Chase – Cheltenham Festival @ 6/1 (Bet365) – Un De Sceaux is likely to be aimed at the Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham on the basis that Un De Sceaux will not be pitched up against stable companion Douvan (Age: 7 (Foaled May 9th, 2010) over Two Miles in the Champion Chase. Willie Mullins (racehorse trainer and former jockey) once an exuberant front runner is settling better in his race these days and Un De Sceaux efforts suggest he can prove equally if not more effective at 2 1/2 Miles. Un De Sceaux - a winner of the recent Tingle Creek chase, sets a good standard and should be right in the thick of the action come March 2017.

3. HORSE RACING BETTING – Faugheen (Age: 9 (Foaled May 2nd, 2008) - 2015 Champion Hurdle and back-to-back Christmas Hurdles in 2014 and 2015) to win Champion Hurdle – Cheltenham Festival @ 9/4 (Skybet) – The 8-year-old horse has not been seen in a race since winning the Irish Champion Hurdle Leopardstown last competitional season but expect trainer Willie Mullins to have his star horse primed to win that race again on Jan 29th before going on to further glory at the Cheltenham Festival 2017.

4. FOOTBALL BETTING – Alexis Sánchez to finish English Premier League Top Scorer @ 5/1 (bet365) – Currently 1 goal ahead of Romelu Lukaku, expect Alexis Sánchez to have a strong second half of the season as he will be the main beneficiary of Arsène Wenger’s style of attacking play and is sure to pick up a few hat-tricks along the way.

5. FOOTBALL BETTINGFulham F.C. to make the Championship Playoffs @ 11/8 (Skybet) – Fulham F.C. started the EFL season slowly but now they are in decent form and playing good football under manager Slavisa Jokanovic so a promotion push looks assured.

6. FOOTBALL BETTING – Spanish team to win the UEFA Champions League @ 10/11 – Barcelona & Real Madrid head the betting odds for the UEFA Champions League and with question marks over Bayern Munich it’s difficult to see anything other than a Spanish team winning the UCL Final on June 3rd, 2017.

7. GOLF BETTING – Dustin Johnson (Current ranking: 6) to win a Major in 2017 @ 7/4 (Bet365) – After finally winning his first major at Oakmont, Dustin Johnson continued the momentum and finished 2016 on a high is the man to follow in the 2017 Majors.

8. BASKETBALL BETTING – Golden State Warriors (1st in Western Conference) to win the NBA Championship @ 11/13 (Unibet) – Golden State Warriors really slipped up in the 2016 NBA Finals but now with Kevin Durant in their side expect them to gain revenge over the Cleveland Cavaliers in June.
